This is my version of a standard, American jazz ballad. I rewrote some of the lyrics, reshaped parts of the melody, and used a faster, more aggressive 6/8 tempo. I had been singing the original, ballad style for years until my life was upended by a deep and shocking betrayal. This version let me express rage and revenge yet still feel love for the song itself.
