The piece "The Girl Kalina" is based on a bulgarian folk song in traditional 11/8. I wrote it for one solo percussionist playing all at once marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, chimes, toms, minitimbales, cymbals, bass drum and a darabuka. The idea of combining all the percussion instruments played as one whole instrument fascinates me and I see there is still so much unexplored, waiting for us to be awaken :)
