Olo raike : One humanity The song Olo Raike was born from the meeting between the singer Noëlla Raoelison, (Madagascar), the musician singer "Kilema" (Madagascar), the Franco-Armenian composer "Tchal", the guitarist Alexandre Bigot (blues & rock) and the bassist Franco-Turkish Matthieu Destailleur (classical / pop). It is a unifying song about social diversity, acceptance of others, foreigners or different people. It advocates unity and reflects a “free and creative” rainbow society that is being built.
The conflict is born from the opposition between people or things, in music I believe that art is in finding the balance that is born from joining two or more different criteria. The conflict is the excuse to find a common point. In this time of isolation, being able to meet so many incredible musicians is a remedy within chaos. In this "Cueca" we seek to find that balance, where very different cultures coexist and converge in a single language, shaping the personality and imprint of each musician.
In these times of limits to the meeting, the possibility of shortening distances and meet other sounds and cultures sharing music keeps us from loneliness. So this composition made a few years ago found a new meaning for me. A dreamlike journey, images and memories that come back from the same dream, recalling the infinite possibilities of memory ….
A hopeful lament about the current pandemic situation on our planet. Conceived, co-written and recorded in Spain and South Africa, using African, Indian, contemporary-western and Malagasy instruments.
We truly had a good time creating the music we're sharing with you today, it was like old friends acquainted again. We are what we connect and create, what we think is a warm offering to sooth many hearts, bring joy to many, comfort and warmth to who listens to it. We both believe music is a gift that is to be shared with all and our collaboration emphasized that unity is the one tangible solution not only for us as people but all of existence and our beautiful planet.
This composition is a call, a prayer. A dialogue between humanity and the earth, seeking to remedy the damage, seeking to strengthen awareness. In this song, the voice of a woman sings to seek to remedy this lack of consciousness into which humanity has fallen, offering its own blood, body, and bones. Adding to it is the voice and prayer of a man from across Africa, calling on humanity to protect endangered species. From the instrumentation, we seek to amalgamate the sound worlds of the Latin American Andes and Madagascar.
