About me

Jacksonville, United States

I am a creative using music as a catalyst to invoke love, peace, and understanding to all that hears. Musically, I am a bassist, composer, and educator. It is important to me that we not only create, but we build those who will come after us. "When you learn, teach." I believe in the healing power of music and believe that it is the bridge to many of the issues in the world today. History shows that our culture can be found through our art. People will fade away, but our art will be here for centuries to come. When they look back centuries at what BEYOND MUSIC has done musically, they are going to say this changed peoples lives. People learned to love again regardless of cultural or racial differences. I believe in the power music and it's ability to heal. I strongly believe that through collaboration and understanding, we can heal the world!

CORAZÓN

Corazón (Heart) is a music that starts from the conflict as a creative force: "If everything is born when it dies and something dies at birth", "Heart squeezes heart loose heart". Day-to-day conflict as a creative impulse, as the heartbeat. This song starts from the idea that something new can be born out of a conflict. These are times when conflict is part of every minute, every second like a new choice.

CONFLUENCES

The conflict is born from the opposition between people or things, in music I believe that art is in finding the balance that is born from joining two or more different criteria. The conflict is the excuse to find a common point. In this time of isolation, being able to meet so many incredible musicians is a remedy within chaos. In this "Cueca" we seek to find that balance, where very different cultures coexist and converge in a single language, shaping the personality and imprint of each musician.

This song is about finding a better way to be, having explored all the 'dead end roads' in ones life. Its about finding peace and meaning out of chaos and suffering, and learning from our mistakes, paving the way for more compassionate and intuitive choices for ourselves and the world. The overall feeling the song emenates is one of over riding peace and harmony, elevating the listener above undertones of conflict and chaos, which are surrendering and unravelling beneath the surface, revealing unity, This song is an appeal to the heart.

Suddenly everything stopped in infinite silence. Humanity is on pause waiting for its destiny. It is time to make a decision, the wind hides his voice, and nobody hears the music of the spheres. We must be one again: Humanity and Mother Nature. Faith and hope in our sacred music. Faith and hope in our sacred humanity. Beyond our sacred Music, beyond love. This song was composed during the Covid quarantine with these amazing artists and people. Kazakhstan and its millennial voice, Amsterdam, Cuba and South America.

Begin Again

The song talks about the relationship with our planet and expresses the wish to go back to the start and begin again. Just like a love relationship that has hit a hard time and you wish you could start over and get past the old hurt. 'What will remain when the cold winds blow the leaves away? In the pouring rain. Will we find love, can we begin again?'

Randy: It's a poetic image using a metaphor of the world spinning around its axis. Like a dance and since, the planet's life is at risk, we decided to join pleading for mercy of life of the planet. And to continue by asking whatever thing is at risk that at least let it get one last dance. It's when you are left with no options and decide with whom to hold your life in his or her hands. Since I believe music uplifts the spirit so it seems only naturally when worse comes worse the world will go out by way of dancing to death.

The Chase

Kate: The animals that share the planet with us are diverse and beautiful, but unfortunately countless species are dying out. We think it's important to remind humanity of the beauty they bring to our world, and to treat them with the respect they deserve as equally valuable residents of our planet. Sasha composed this track with the story of the song in mind, and the music expresses the pure exuberance of the life that surrounds us.

Che senso ha

Another picture of the dramatic situation of our planet and our humanity that is missing somewhere. Starving children who die. Helpless cries call us. How many violence oppresses us. The indifferences that weigh on the conscience of many atrocities. And all the weapons they sell without any scruple. Unnecessary waste reflects all the serious mistakes of an old civilization. Contradictions chase us and the privileges that separate us. And we who stand by and watch…Who among us can still accept. What is the answer to give? So, what does it mean.”

Tell me captain

Tell me captain it’s a grooving rhythm and blues that give “a lighthearted take on what's going on in the world” (Elly). We won’t accept, we won’t give up, we will “…keep on running against the wave, keep on singing in the rain, keep on loving life and human beings…” (Diego)
