This track is a cover of the first verse of “Baeed Anak”, a song by Oum Kalthoum, also known as “The Star of the Orient”, and regarded as the greatest Arab singer of the 20th century. I began singing with her repertoire, as I consider her an idol. I'm especially fond of her songs, and some journalists see me as an Oum Kalthoum specialist. In this cover, I've incorporated the Clarinette to bring in a jazzy touch, which I hope has been successful.
