Incantation to mythological Nordic Tree of Life, 'Yggdrasil', also named in legend as an Ash tree, this song laments the demise of Fraxinus Excelsior, or common Ash tree due to ash-dieback caused by the Chalara fungus; a tangible impact of climate change creeping through the woodlands of my Dartmoor home landscape. In light of the mass extinction event being felt worldwide, the idea of losing our mythological world tree is exquisitely and excruciatingly poignant.
