The ideas is that the verses are short and concise like the beat of a heart, and the chorus drips with soul (Soullll). When Michael made "Heart & Soul," he wanted it to feel like stepping back into a disco party in New York City. Where the music was funky, the lights were bright, and everyone couldn't help but dance. Michael mixed the old-school groove with a modern beat to create something that makes you want to move.
