Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) 1. Präludium from «Das Wohltemperirte Clavier, 1722». Charles Gounod (1818 – 1893) 1852 composed over it the «Méditation sur le premier prélude de Bach» and 1859 added the text of the latin prayer Ave Maria.
