Shabad Guru
Shabad guru - the sacred word takes us from darkness to light . Sacred Word is a theme which presents itself in many different cultures and religions . "Shabad Guru" has its origins with mystic philosopher Guru Nanak in Punjab. He was an accomplished musician and who is now revered across the world. His use of music to connect people with their spiritual cores and understand the oneness of life is an eternal message which finds relevance in our times as well. This song is registered in what is regarded as the greatest treasure of music from the 11th to the 17 th century India the Guru Granth Sahib . The book itself is considered to be a living master. Its message is formless, timeless and accessible to all people from all walks of life . With our collaboration we are looking at the song in a fresh prespective. We are taking it out from its Indian classical domains to a new World - folk sound . Nanak was famous for his long journeys with his musical companion Mardana . He has always enjoyed the wandering travelling nature of his songs . With Shabad Guru we travel from Punjab(India and Pakistan) to Armenia to Europe in search for harmony .
