This is a unique rendition of the Hare Krishna chant, a devotional song usually sung with joy and abandon. Overtone singing and throat singing with SAROD and other instruments. Krishna is the Supreme Person, the Godhead. The name in Sanskrit means “The Dark One” and refers mainly to his complexion, most often depicted as blue. Here the other face of joy is invoked by the raga, led by the beautiful sound of the Sarod, a guitar-like instrument from India.
