Tu Meri Sursari
"Tu meri sursari" is expression of love for the great River Ganga .She is a source of great inspiration and love for all of us involved in this piece. We have all been touched by her magical energy and culture. We all are aware of the dangers the Ganga and all the other river systems of the world face in this so called modern age. My teacher Ustad Asad Ali Khan had mentioned you can hear all the notes of the music sitting next to Ganga . In the Guru Granth Sahib the word "Sursari" is used for Ganga . Sursari means the Saree of Musical notes . The song explores a musicians loving relationship with the river , the time spent listening to its flows and music and singing along with it . This love makes us want to protect it and mother nature . We want her to reach the sea in purity and bliss and continue on her cyclical journey . This flow is her life and also ours . Its time humanity woke up to River consciousness .
