The origin of AORTA is found 7 years ago when I discovered the possibility of tuning the guitar in midst of a song, creating an abstract yet melancholic feeling accompanied by a pocketful motion. It started out with just the beginning section of this song. I was just meditating on the groove and played it in a loop till a feeling established yet to be discovered again in it's causation. Then I left the idea in my imaginary library and decided to come back to this idea when it felt right. After 7 years it felt like the time is right again. The tune is about the "Why" I chose the musical path I did, hence the name "Aorta": the main highway for blood to our heart. The tune came out as a 2nd single from the album "Thaw". Technical side: Percussions are played on the body of the guitar simultaneously with strings. Additional sounds & fx were produced and added with an electric guitar by my friend and colleague Kaspars Niklasons.
