Future Songs is a concept album. The original idea was to have a fictitious future band singing songs about the past. Those songs would then be a comment on our present. Dragonfly started out as a solo project in my home studio, mixing electric guitar with instruments I had only played for a few years: the pedal steel guitar and some selected electronics. Gradually, the whole thing grew into a kind of virtual band, including two fabulous musicians from South Africa, as well as featuring a string quartet based in Switzerland.
