Shubham Karoti Kalyanam (Salutations to the Light of the Lamp) is a famous Sanskrit Sloka (Mantra), recited while lighting a Diya/ Lamp for auspicious occasions or everyday puja or prayer. It precisely means: May the light from this lamp remove the darkness of ignorance by illuminating my mind with knowledge. May this light destroy the maleficent intellect of enemies.
