Shubham Karoti Kalyanam | Mantra by Bijayashree Samal

Shubham Karoti Kalyanam (Salutations to the Light of the Lamp) is a famous Sanskrit Sloka (Mantra), recited while lighting a Diya/ Lamp for auspicious occasions or everyday puja or prayer. It precisely means: May the light from this lamp remove the darkness of ignorance by illuminating my mind with knowledge. May this light destroy the maleficent intellect of enemies. To this light, the harbinger of all things good and auspicious, I offer my salutations. Light is considered a symbol of auspiciousness, prosperity, and abundance in many cultures.
