Child Song
Child Song is a radical call to humanity for Children and Mothers who have marginally been neglected. It is a reawakening that we all need to focus on a crucial part of society. Child Song is a melodramatic fusion of Jazz, Pop, Poetry, Spoken word and Consciousness. It has a consistent tempo and synthronic strings that impresses urgency and importance. The composition and structure was layered by Mar-shall Muze who sang expressively on the first verse and hook. Akwasi Marley a Ghanaian Rapper and poet played a vital role in initiating the commencement of our collaboration. He did poetic justice to the second verse mimicking a protestant preacher or prophet. Another gifted creative on this collaboration is Collekta who as a producer, recorded Akwasi Marley in Ghana as well as saturate some highlights with animated back-ups. It took us a series of correspondence via email, Video chats, and dialogue over the course of three weeks to achieve this piece. We had fun while staying through to the message and chasing excellence. We felt personal about this project as it is in fact a genuine realization that we where once Children. Everyone was once a Child.
