Em Kolîme

This is a song about village life in Kurdish communities. The song means "I am a peasant". It portrays a person who is ridiculed by the person he is in love with because he is a peasant and Kurd. It is half Kirdaski (a dialect of Kurdish) and half Turkish. It consists of simple lyrics and musical repetitions. It is a classic wedding song sung in Kiğı as well as in the neighboring districts of Pülümür, Palu, Hınıs and Varto.
